(WENN) - Fans of Mike Scaccia have raised more than $10,000 for the rocker's family following his death last month.
The 47-year-old guitarist was performing with metal band Rigor Mortis in Fort Worth, Texas on December 22 when he collapsed onstage.
Scaccia was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and a coroner subsequently ruled he had suffered a heart attack.
His Rigor Mortis bandmate Bruce Corbitt launched a fundraising campaign to benefit the late star's family, and fans have already donated $10,200.
In a post on his Facebook page, Corbitt writes, "The credit goes out to everyone for helping."
