Dan Auerbach reveals that they are hoping to have the new album done by some time in March

The Black Keys have announced a few dates - and that they're going to work on their new album this month. The duo are doing a week's worth of dates with The Flaming Lips April 28th in Kansas City, Missouri through May 3rd in Nashville.
Singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach tells Uncut magazine that "we’re going to start making the new album in the second week of January and we’re hoping to have it done by some time in March. The record isn’t written yet, we’ll do it when we get into the studio. This is when we both work best, when we’re dying to make an album. All of our records take place in the studio, in that we make stuff up while we’re there.”
Auerbach adds that the band will be taking the summer off from touring.
