Listen to The Rolling Stones on iHeartRadio
The Rolling Stones have released the second of two new songs they recorded in August in Paris for their new hits collection, GRRR!, which will be out on Tuesday.
Titled "One More Shot" and written by Keith Richards, it follows last month's release of Mick Jagger's contribution, "Doom and Gloom." In his only U.S. radio interview on the new album, dates and their 50th anniversary, Richards tells us, "You want to celebrate with 'Doom and Gloom'? Mick came up with a great track and it's more immediate than 'One More Shot.' [But] 'One More Shot' I think has more longevity on it."
The song harkens back to "Street Fighting Man" and 1989's "Mixed Emotions."
Keith Richards said about the new tune, "You want to celebrate with 'Doom and Gloom'? [laughs] But the Stones being perverse, yeah. And Mick came up with a great track and it's more immediate than 'One More Shot.' [But] 'One More Shot' I think has more longevity on it and we'll see, you know, when that comes out how it does. But I'm just happy that I've got them into the studio, to have come out with two good tracks - fresh, rock and roll, no compromises this way or the other, it's clean, fun, Stones. I'll settle for that. Unless the Mayans are right, in which case there's no Christmas, right?"
